On-Arrival Training in Velenje..
14th February 2014 at 12:38Velenje is an industrial city of Slovenia and my on-arrival training took place there.It is in north-east part of Slovenia.Velenje is a different choice to have this kind of trainings because mostly they take place in Bled,Bohinj (one of the spectacular places in Slovenia).
We stayed five days in Velenje, in a youth hostel, actually the hostel was very good.As usual, trainings presents new friends, so much laugh,team building games,energizers,new information and connections…We had really great time. I met other volunteers from different sides of Slovenia.We have oppurtinity to meet again and have fun in any part of Slovenia or Europe.
I have never seen such a group that laugh so much.We all had fun.I also had my first experience as a tree.How? One of the participants had his filming programme in his notebook.We decided to shoot a slow-motion film, just for fun.Everybody played their own roles very well.Most of us were trees except one couple who was in impossible love.Because the woman in love died at the end.:(
In this short filming period we had great time but in the mean time we all understood that playing for a film shooting is not so easy.We just watch one minutes on TV as followers, but actully for that one minute needs many hours to be prepared.I would like to share this video with everyone, unfortunately my friend had a problem in his computer and lost it…Anyway, it was worty to try.
We found a chance to think more about our EVS progress.What we expected in the beginnig and what we found up to that point.This way of thinking may be usefull to plan the rest of EVS period in your head.
I tried many traditional Slovenian foods in this training.We were all complaining about eating too much, it was hard to stop ourselves because they were delicious and new for each of us..:))
We also visited mining museum.It was interesting to see the development of the mining from the beginning to nowadays.In previous times, it had been a really difficult job.The technology wasn’t enough to protect miners life.For nowadays, we saw the last technological machines under the ground.They also use a hall to give concerts and parties.I was a little surprised when ı saw the disco balls around the hall under ground..:))
